5th Semester

Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics. Pharmacology of the cholinergic system. Muscarinic agonists and antagonists. Cholinesterase inhibitors. Nicotine agonists, antagonists. Myoplegic drugs. Pharmacology of Sympathetic Nervous System: Adrenergic receptors. Adrenergic agonists. Αlpha and beta adrenergic receptor antagonists. Drugs that affect the biosynthesis, storage and release of catecholamines.
Drugs that affect the function of the histaminergic and serotonergic system. Drugs that affect the function of the stomach and its secretory mechanisms. Drugs that affect the motility of the intestine. Cardiac Muscle Pharmacology. Pharmacological modification of cardiovascular function. Drugs that affect kidney function. Drugs that affect the hematopoietic system. Drugs for diseases of CNS
6th Semester

Pharmacology of special populations, 8. Drugs in clinical practice, 9. Design and development of new drugs, 10. Introduction to clinical pharmacology, 11. Clinical Trials.
Clinical exercises involve practice in a clinic, in patients 'wards and in an Intensive Care Unit where students practically follow patients' medication treatments and are trained in the method of drug administration, dose calculation, medication management, side effects and drug interactions.
